This \1 is a hard to find Aubusson which was originally made around the 16th century in the French town of Aubusson, famous for its carpets and tapestries. Much later French masters taught the methods to Chinese weavers and today in the laboratories of China Aubusson and Needle-point are reproduced in a perfect way according to ancient techniques with the use of ancient looms. Soft and light, it is woven in wool and cotton and made in the 90s.
This rug is hand knotted and therefore there may be slight differences in shape, thickness and pattern. This is particularly noticeable in rural and nomadic carpets. The slight imperfections of these hand-made artifacts increase their value and attest to the craftsmanship of the workmanship.
