DESCRIZIONE
This \1 was made in the Sjirvan region of Azerbaijan , the place where the finest Caucasus carpets were born. It is light with a high density of knots and made entirely of hand- spun wool and dyed with natural pigments. The motifs are geometric and the colors used by the dyers are only vegetable. The production period is from the end of the 1900s . The Shirvan for their expressive power are today much loved and sought after by collectors all over the world.
This rug is hand knotted and therefore there may be slight differences in shape, thickness and pattern. This is particularly noticeable in rural and nomadic carpets. The slight imperfections of these hand-made artifacts increase their value and attest to the craftsmanship of the workmanship.
