\1 easily traceable to the famous artist Inosuke Kobayashi. His Kokeshi are often heavy and large round pieces, collected all over the world. This kokeshi is dated Showa 56 which means 1981.
Kobayashi's kokeshi are easily recognizable because his technique is unique and unmistakable. Most often they are carved from a single block of wood and the engravings practiced are intricate but very elegant and refined.
