In 1905 Carl Auer von Welsbach invented lamps with Wolfram wire in the bulb; he was also responsible for the invention of the OSRAM brand, obtained by combining the scientific names of Osmium (OS) and Wolframio (RAM), that is the two elements commonly used for the manufacture of the filaments of light bulbs, by virtue of their ability to withstand incandescence thanks to the very high melting temperatures from (3000 to 3400 ° C).
